Local Bronx High Schoolers Record Live Sessions at Lehman College

Spring is definitely here and arriving with it has been a flurry of activity at the Lehman Multimedia Center. There has been a variety of recording sessions with Bronx Lab High School (accompanied by music instructor Rian Wilkinson), Bronx High School of Science and the High School for Contemporary Arts also located here in the Bronx.  Coordinated by Allan Molnar and the Lehman College Music Department, students were given the opportunity to spend the day here at Lehman College and experience recording in a state-of-the-art facility. The Multimedia Center with its brand new Euphonix S5 digital console and acoustically designed studio space is truly an amazing place to record and the students were thrilled to be here and experience what a recording session is like in a real world situation. Student interns, college assistants and volunteers helped coordinate and set up for the big band sessions-some involving as many as 30 musicians.  The Film Scoring, Advanced Audio Production and Video Editing classes have also been quite busy working on a variety of projects in the studio including recording live to picture, music recording sessions, voiceover, bumpers for the brand new Bronx Journal Radio station and more. Upcoming projects include a cast album of Penny Prince’s musical production “Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet”.
