The Bronx Journal - A Lehman Showcase

I am a lecturer in the Journalism, Communications and Theatre department where I teach interactive media and digital news design. I am also a faculty adviser for The Bronx Journal (TBJ), an award-winning multimedia publication produced by Lehman students.

TBJ covers the Bronx for borough residents. Our students report, write, shoot and produce the site's content, which includes text, photography, audio, video, and slideshows.

Over the last year, our journalism students have created some tremendous stories on issues important to Bronxites. A few recent examples are our coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement, marching against crime in Mott Haven, Bronxites up in arms over postal closings, a Lehman grad's blog from Russia and a former Soprano's star who forsake fame for a job folding laundry in the Bronx.

Occupy the Bronx

TBJ is also an online home of The Bronx Journal television, a weekly program, featuring local movers and shakers. Every program segment is available for viewing on TBJ and features Lehman students as reporters, hosts, and production staff.

We are looking forward to another creative and productive semester. We would like to invite the larger Lehman community to contribute journalistic content to our showcase publication and to alert us to any news or events -- on campus or off -- that warrant coverage. You can contact us via tips@thebronxjournal.com.
