This winter/spring 2012, three Lehman theatre majors can be found in Manhattan, Bronx, and Brooklyn in exciting internships with some of the biggest names in theatre and television. In January, sophomore Kelvin Veras began an internship with Jujamcyn Theaters, the owner/operators of five Broadway theaters including the St. James, Al Hirschfeld, August Wilson, Eugene O'Neill, and Walter Kerr. A Theater Operations intern, Kelvin spends two full days at Jujamcyn's main office and assists the house manager at one of the five Broadway theaters. After a fall internship at
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, senior Michelle Ojeda is now serving as an intern at
Saturday Night Live. And with an interest in lighting design, senior Felix Baez is being mentored by Xavier Pierce, a professional lighting designer who is designing
Flyin' West at Lehman and a variety of other projects throughout the city.

Such internships in the New York theatre industry are an integral part of the
theatre program at Lehman, which seeks to develop students as versatile, self-directed artists who know how to make art and how to produce it. Check back for more updates on these three student artists/managers who are bridging their Lehman education with the real world of NY theatre and television.
