MSCHE’s Standards Revisions Process: A Quick Update

Back on December 16, I posted about draft standards that were made public by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) at its annual conference. In that piece, I noted that conference participants were invited to submit feedback (my feedback will be noted in a future blog entry). I also added that Town Hall-style meetings would be held prior to the Commission’s voting on the draft standards at its June 2014 meeting and then subsequently submitting them to member institutions for approval.

Since that time, MSCHE has set a deadline of January 31 for conference participant feedback. Feedback is being collected via SurveyMonkey®. Comments can also be e-mailed to the Commission at

In addition, MSCHE has set the dates and locations for three Town Hall meetings:

February 20, 2014 San Juan, Puerto Rico

March 13, 2014 Albany, New York

March 21, 2014 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Additional meetings will be held in Washington, DC and in the greater Philadelphia area.
