So you want to work in TV! Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment Panelists at the Multimedia Center

Lehman College's Multimedia Center/Lehman Studios was thrilled to host The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) on Wednesday, March 20th, for their renowned "Made in NY" panel discussions. The panelists all had deep expertise as professionals in television production.  Moderated by Todd Asher, MOME's First Deputy Commissioner (at the far left), the panel included (from left to right) Glynis Burke, electrician and gaffer, Mark Britt, jib and camera operator, Kenneth Prins, audio engineer, and Frank Lazarto, head electrician.

The event was recorded by Lehman Studios and simultaneously streamed on the web and broadcast live by BronxNet.  The audience was filled to capacity with Lehman College students, TV professionals, Bronxites, and others who wanted to learn more about working in the TV industry.  The panelists all described their lives in TV while communicating the passion they have for their work. This was followed by a question & answer segment with further discussion about how to 'break-in' to the business.

After the formal event, the panelists graciously stayed late to mingle with the audience and offer advice. Above, Mark Britt is demonstrating how to use a jib camera to a enthralled group of students, audience members, and Multimedia Center staff. Click here to learn more about future Made in NY events.

Stay tuned.  The video of this event will be posted shortly!
