I am a transfer student from Bronx Community College. My major is Social Work and my minor is History. When I first came to Lehman, I thought that everything would run smoothly because I did my research and Lehman was a good school. I learned that if you want something, you better make some noise because I was tired of being told "that is how things are" or "there is nothing else to be done." Attending Lehman College has had a definite impact on my public speaking skills. I have learned how to...

I am in an auditorium of Fordham University, sitting in one of the front rows. I sit in my silky white gown, feeling anxious of what I have to do- give a valedictorian speech in front of the audience filled with school faculty members, proud parents, family members, and friends. I took about three or four courses with him, and learned so much that I try to incorporate into whichever field of journalism I pursue. Each time a...

It is essential to be knowledgeable in computers, software, hardware, and common products. I have recognized that customer service skills are essential in this position, and are a determining factor in one’s effectiveness and overall...

Three years ago, I was a veteran and single mother of three working a thankless job with no upward mobility. Through the veterans coordinator in my office, I received information about the Post 9/11 Montgomery Gl Bill. After reading all of the details, I decided to go back to school...full time. I was fearful about resigning from my position, however completing my undergraduate degree was so much more important. A family friend told me about Lehman College and it was surprisingly close to...
