At the School of Continuing and Professional Studies the door is open to ALL--from grade school students to active seniors, undergraduates, international students, new and established small business owners, union and industry partners, students seeking new careers, and many others.
I've worked with our programs as an administrator, researcher, and program developer and coordinator since 1981 and have seen exciting developments along with the steady growth of our school which now serves thousands of students each year. Today, the opportunities for learning at all levels and in myriad areas of study continue to expand and we have the ability to respond quickly to changes in the needs of the workforce.
What makes our program special is: hearing a young child in our children's program exclaim to his mom, 'I'm going to college!"; seeing mature adults with family and work responsibilities earn their long-dreamed of bachelor's degrees through the Adult Degree Program; offering professional certificates to career changers; helping entrepreneurs succeed; hearing international students speak their first English sentences; partnering with unions and industry to help employees along career pathways.
Our future postings from students, faculty, and staff will tell you in a personal way more about the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
