Mobile First Web and Content Strategy: Lehman website is mobile!

At the 12 CUNY IT conference this past December I had the pleasure to give a presentation together with David Stevens, Manager of Web Services, Lehman College and Gerlando Termini, Web Developer, Lehman College about our work in the development of Lehman's website.

Each of us talked about different aspects of the project.
David opened with an overview of Lehman's evolving web eco-system and the mobile sites crucial role in the college's overall web content strategy.
Gerlando walked the audience through three of our mobile components: the Events Calendar, our college newsletter "Lehman Today" and the mobile class schedule application. For each of them, he emphasized the interconnections between our open and distributed data model and the presentation layer.
I showed the audience the mobile library website. On the mobile library website our students, faculty and staff can conveniently find books, access mobile databases, chat with a librarian 24-7, take our Mobile Tour, and much more. I also demonstrated how I integrate the mobile library websites to teach mobile information literacy classes to our students.
The future is clearly going to be mobile - so go ahead and check out our mobile website from you smartphone at
